Property of an unknown value was on Wednesday night destroyed as fire engulfed a dormitory of a giant school in the North Eastern region.
In a suspected case of arson, one of the dormitories of Alijungur high school dormitory was reduced to ashes, in a fire that broke out at a few minutes to midnight.
In a Facebook post, Fafi Member of Parliament Abdikadir Osman Mohammed, said the fire is believed to have been started by a section of unruly students.
Reports indicate that at the time of incident, most of the students had gone to the Mosque, while a few others remained to watch a Champions League match between Ajax and Tottenham.
No fatalities were reported during the late night inferno.
"I have received reports of a fire incident that took place in a dormitory in Alijungur Secondary School at around 2300hrs last night.
"The fire believed to be the handiwork of student arsonists had no fatalities nor injuries but has burnt down a few mattresses and belongings. At the time of the fire, most of the students were at the mosque while the rest were watching a soccer match save for 3 students that were spotted running away from the scene by the school watchman and who are suspected to have started the fire, the MP said.
