Jama also wants action taken against all those who will be implicated to have planned the attempted assassination.

Speaking in Garissa Town on Saturday, the former Wiper Governor said that the family of Mukhtar and Garissa people want to see speedy justice.

He said that police are taking too long to crack the attempted murder.

He said that things could be complicated following the death of a key suspect, David Mwai who was at the center of investigations.

Mwai committed suicide inside police cells at Parklands police station last week.

"Detectives must move with speed and arrest people who planned for Mukhtar's attempted murder," he told journalists.

Jama asked detectives to turn every stone and not to spare anyone.

Mukhtar served as Finance CEC during governor Jama's reign.

Investigations into the former CEC's attempted murder is ongoing.

Two key suspects,  Mohamud Hussein Aden, and Juliet Njoki are in police custody.

Garissa Governor Ali Korane is among people who have been interrogated in regards to the attempted murder.

Mukhtar's family has been accusing the police of allegedly trying to cover up the matter.

Police have however refuted the claims, assuring the family that justice will be rendered.
