Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s Personal Assistant (PA) Michael Juma Oyamo is likely to face another murder charge.
According to the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Jacob Ondari, they are considering charging Oyamo with the murder of Sharon Otieno’s unborn baby.
In an affidavit sworn in court, the prosecution says that apart from killing Sharon, Oyamo and other accused persons killed her unborn baby.
“We are going at a later stage to charge the accused person with the murder of Sharon Otieno’s unborn baby," the prosecution said.
In the affidavit, the prosecution argues that life begins at conception and that Oyamo and others must take plea for the death of the seven month unborn child.
On Wednesday, Oyamo pleaded not guilty to killing Sharon Otieno.
Obado’s PA is accused of allegedly committing the crime between September 3 and 4, 2018 in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay county.
High Court Judge Jessie Lessit remanded Oyamo pending his bail hearing on October 8.
Oyamo has been remanded at the Nairobi Industrial Remand prison.
