Speaking at Lwanya Catholic Church on Sunday, he called upon locals not to oppose projects meant to improve livelihoods.

The CS also said that he was not happy after a section of residents of Koseny in Teso North Constituency resisted to move from their ancestoral land to pave way for the construction of dams.

The government has revealed its plan to construct Kocholia and Angololo Multipurpose Water projects in Teso.

“Residents should support the projects by giving out land, the projects will benefit some parts of Uganda and neighbouring counties like Bungoma,” said Wamalwa.

He further said that there is no reason to panic because the government is under control. He attributed the lack of rains to the drought situation in the country.

“The Govt has put in place a Drought Response Action Plan that includes release of Ksh 900M in the month of June 2019,to ensure there is sufficient food &water and no Kenyan dies as a result of the drought, due to failed short rains of oct-dec and the current depressed long rains, “he revealed on Tuesday.
