Speaking on Milele FM’s 'Kivumbi' on Monday morning, Arati claimed that opposition leader Raila Odinga spoke him into shelving his ambition for the seat which was later won by Kidero.

He added that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader advised him to instead concentrate on the Dagoretti North seat, basing on his youthfulness.

‘’Nilitaka kupigania ugavana lakini Raila mwenyewe akaniambia mimi ni kijana mdogo nimwachie Kidero (Raila advised me to support Kidero instead terming me very young),’’ he revealed.

Arati noted that he might run for the seat in the coming 2022 general election, banking on his reported spotless development record in his constituency.

This, he said, however, depends on the wishes of his supporters and constituents, adding that he could as well end up defending his seat basing on political dynamics and his people’s advises.

He added that despite seeking to elevate himself politically, some of his supporters advised him to serve another term as the area legislator.

‘’Huenda nikapigania ugavana 2022, lakini pia huenda nikarudi bungeni. Maamuzi yatafanywa 2022 (I will decide on my next move in 2022),’’ he added.
