Most of these politicians have found themselves too anxious and excited about their newfound powers, with some lacking wisdom on how to defend themselves and what they stand for, pushing them to engage in controversial actions.

Here are some of the leaders from Luo Nyanza region who are not new to controversy.

1. Babu Owino

The Embakasi East parliamentarian was only recently in hot soup for insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta and calling him 'son of a dog', allegations that landed him in court.

He would again engage his Starehe counterpart Charles Njagua in a fist fight within the precincts of Parliament, after political differences, further raising eyebrows on the young leaders' leading capabilities.

He has, however, since reconciled with Njagua and gone ahead to reach a truce with Kenyatta following the President's March 9 reconciliation with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

2. Millie Odhiambo

The vocal Suba North lawmaker is also not new to controversy. She has on a number of occasions attacked several leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On June 15, 2017, she accused Jubilee parliamentarians of having tried to undress her in Parliament.

Lately, she has, however, 'reformed' and is less controversial.

3. Fred Ouda

The Kisumu Central lawmaker shocked the nation in June last year, when he stripped naked to protest against Deputy President William Ruto's alleged insults on Odinga.

In a separate incident, Ouda chained himself at the IEBC Kisumu offices in protest against the electoral body.

4. Evans Kidero

The former Nairobi Governor allegedly slapped the county Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh at City Hall in Nairobi in September 2013, after a short argument .

The issue would rather transform into a court case, which would later be solved out of court.
