It is just a matter of days before Nyanza's newest International Stadium is commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Governor James Ongwae has said.
On Sunday, Uhuru along with ODM leader Raila Odinga are expected in Gusii Stadium where they will launch it during International Youths Day.
A day after the launch, the 40,000 sitter stadium will host KICOSCA games in which over 20,000 fans are expected.
"We are ready for grand opening. It is a multidisciplinary stadium and it about 95 percent complete.
"Thereafter, the remaining stands will be worked on along with athletic tracks. We are hoeping to produce more talents," he said.
Once completed, it will become the second stadium of international standards after Bukhungu in Kakamega County.
The stadium has cost the county government of Kisii slightly over 250 million until now.
Last week, county Sports ECM Duke Mainga delivered invitation note to opposition leader Raila Odinga who is supposed to accompany President Uhuru Kenyatta to the event.
