Foreign Affairs PS Ambassador Macharia Kamau has found himself on the receiving end after he mocked an activist over her views on Chinese debts.
In a live interview on KTN news, Jerotich Seii castigated Jubilee government of their high appetite for Chinese loans.
She further accused the Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying that it was covering up of dubious deals Kenyan government was engaging with foreign countries.
"I believe that our bureaucratic are too short-sighted, corrupt," she said.
This didn't go well with Foreign Affairs with PS Macharia who claimed that the activist was less informed and taken over by time.
The agitated government official labelled the activist as 'foolish' who don't say it was outrageous to have such an expression.
"Can you imagine what her ilk would have said at the turn of the 19th Century? Kilindini Harbour and the “lunatic express” being built on loans as it was. It’s a wonder we are still not slaves!! Where do they find these nincompoops? Where would Kenya be without the loans and rail," he tweeted.
Kenyans took on Twitter expressing their disappointment with his comments. A number of Kenyans mocked him saying that his behaviour was uncalled for, adding that he should learn how to manage his anger.
Others said it was an embarrassment who have a person of his calibre not respecting other people's views.
