Over three weeks after his son's death, Governor John Nyagarama has continued with his stay in the US sparking rumours about his deteriorating health.
On Sunday, social media was awash of his alleged death forcing the county government to issue a press statement over his whereabouts.
But family sources say that governor was compelled to remain further in the US following hypertension suffered, suspected to have been orchestrated by his son's death.
"He was initially supposed to come by 25th June but all had to change after he suffered high blood pressure after receiving tragic news about his son's death.
"And doctors had to carry some other tests before recommending that he remains hospitalised untl his full recovery," said the source.
While in the US, Nyagarama has also reportedly been with a former wife to his deceased son Ndemo Nyagarama, who had separated and moved to Canada.
The family has been pushing for the woman's return ahead of Ndemo's burial which has been set tentatively on July 20th this year.
According to the family source who spoke in confidence, the governor will complete his treatment on 10th July before flying to Kenya on 13th ahead of the burial.
