This comes barely a week after Murkomen was accused of disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta. Murkomen had also linked ODM leader Raila Odinga to the ongoing Mau forest evictions.

However, speaking on NTV’s AM Live on Tuesday, his Kericho counterpart Aaron Cheruiyot sought to defend the Senate Majority Leader.

Cheruiyot noted that Murkomen was referring to Jubilee insiders who came on board in the course of the government’s rule and are largely unaware of the ruling Jubilee Party's mission, therefore, hindering its operations.

‘’Raila has not joined the government and everyone knows that he is still the leader of opposition. Murkomen was speaking about some people who were not there when we were discussing the party’s missions but have suddenly emerged to misguide us,’’ he noted.

Murkomen’s remarks have since been condemned by opposition and government-allied leaders alike, with Odinga’s lieutenants terming him a junior who should show respect to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader.
