Parenting can be very tricky. Children can easily go against what you believe in and annoy you.

However, you are advised to gauge what you say to them, even if you are sure that they are wrong.

Here are three phrases you should never tell your child:

1. Quit

There are several things your child will try doing, and possibly not get the desired results.

As a parent, you should never discourage your child.

Be the pillar they need because they take your comments seriously and keep them in their hearts.

2. You are driving me crazy

You are likely to be tempted to let your child know how you feel about their bad behaviour.

However, this is a poor statement.

Your child shouldn't think that he or she is the source of your frustrations.

You should always start by telling them that you love them, before saying that you are, however, not happy with their behaviour.

You are fat/thin

The media has forced society to believe that there is a perfect body.

This has affected many people, especially women and girls.

This makes it necessary for you as a parent to approach this topic sanely, minding what the media has made your child believe.

If you feel she/he is fat or thin, encourage them and make them feel loved and appreciated.
