Results for the recently concluded Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations will be out within the next two months as promised by the Ministry of Education and Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
Immediately after the release of the results, the ministry will commence the process of placing the students in different secondary schools according to their performance.
Parents always want the best for their kids and soon after the release of the results, they will be running up and down, school to school and ‘office ‘ to ‘office’ as they try to get opportunities for their kids in the best performing secondary schools even if it means using illegal means.
Here is a list of top performing secondary schools in Uasin Gishu and an opportunity in any of these schools will guarantee a student a direct entry to the university.
Moi Girls High School - Eldoret
It is one of the best academic giants in the country and definitely the best secondary school in Uasin Gishu. It is Located just outside the CBD of Eldoret. Guided by the motto honour, courage and industry, the school managed about 95 per cent transmission to the university in 2017.
Segero Adventist School
It is a Seventh Day Adventist Church-owned secondary school with adequate learning facilities. The school is located in Eldoret West sub-county along the Eldoret-Ziwa-Kitale road. It has been registering good results in the national examinations and is ranked among the top performing schools in Uasin Gishu.
AIC Chebisaas Boys
It was elevated to the National school status during the then Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i. It has been recording good results over time. The public school is located at the Chepkoilel Junction along the Eldoret-Ziwa road.
Turbo school
With the motto ‘born to lead‘, the Boys’ Boarding and Private Secondary School was ranked at the third position in the county during last year’s KCSE results. It is situated in Turbo constituency approximately 32 kilometres from Eldoret town along the Turbo-Eldoret highway.
Drys girls high school
It is a girls’ public secondary school located Kapsengwet Sub location of Ainabkoi constituency. It was the fourth best performing secondary school in the county according to 2017 KCSE results.
