Police officers in Chebilat, Borabu Sub County on Wednesday arrested two thugs who have been attacking and robbing locals.
Confirming the incident, Borabu Assistant County Commissioner Michael Lesmum said the suspects whose identify is yet to be revealed were reported by members of the public.
"The suspects on Tuesday night broke into a local bar and stole liquor worth Sh20,000 and money. A search was done in their house where bottles of liquor were recovered," he said.
The criminals tried to run away in vain.
"Members of the public nabbed the suspects 100 meters away from their rented house before they gave them a dog's beating. Police rescued the suspects before they could be set on fire," said the commissioner.
The police boss said one of the suspect escaped but, he is being traced.
Lesmum assured that the suspects who are currently being held at Matutu police station will be arraigned in court on Thursday.
"The thugs will face the law to serve as an example to the rest of local youths engaging in crime," said Lesmum.
He urged the public to report the suspect who escaped to authorities whenever they will spot him in the area.
