Addressing residents at Kiruku and Mwangulu in Pongwe/Kikoneni and Mwereni wards, Achani said after serving under Governor Mvurya for two terms, she has known the ways of developing the county to the next level through life changing projects.

Achani who was distributing banana, mango, citrus and coconut seedlings to farmers in the two wards said she was ready and ripe for the job having got experienc from a development focused governor.

She cautioned residents that if a new person gets into the governorship, there was danger that they could erase the gains made and the huge plans ahead.

“If a new person becomes governor, there is danger that all the gains under Governor Salim Mvurya, such as the multi-million bursary scheme, Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes, agriculture programmes and so on, could be brushed aside or even destroyed as another leader would want to initiate own programmes," she said adding that she would follow Governor Mvurya’s footsteps and continue the development track-record he has established.

She castigated leaders on the tribal war path warning that this will divide Kwale residents along ethnic lines and urged the people to ignore such leaders.

“Governor Salim Mvurya has built this county to great heights by uniting all the tribes living here. The issue of being a Duruma, Digo, Kamba or another tribe is irrelevant and must be ignored if this county is to develop further,” she said.
