Dinah Bochere was accused of connecting cattle thieves into the village to steal from people.

“Bochere has in several occasions been linked to cattle theft. On Monday night, thieves stole a cow belonging to a widowed woman in the village.

"Bochere was summoned to appear at the chief’s office but, she chose to go into hiding,” said a local Caleb Matunda.

Mr. Matunda said Bochere will by lynched if she steps her foot in the village.

Area assistant chief, Ronald Oremo confirmed the incident and said cattle rustling is rampant in the area.

“It is worrying that some people are still stealing people’s livestock. On Monday night a cow was stolen from the village and Bochere was the first suspect since two men were spotted at her home the same day. She must produce the cow if she wants to return into the village,” said Oremo.

Mr. Oremo said he summoned Bochere to appear at his office but, she has since gone into hiding.

He said cattle theft must come to an end in the area and whoever who will be found will face the full force of the law.

The administrator called on residents to be vigilant and ensure they report anyone they suspect to be part of the cattle rustlers to authorities for arrests to be made.
