Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut has faulted his Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi who had called for the auditing of the first president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta family as well.
Speaking in Eldoret on Friday, Chepkut termed such a demand as uncalled for and disrespectful to the Kenyatta family.
“I want to tell my friend Oscar Sudi to stop dragging the first president's name into the lifestyle audit issues since he struggled for this country and should let his soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
“I condemn his utterances with the strongest terms possible since they are ill-intended and meant to divide the nation. He should publicly apologize to the Kenyatta family," added the MP.
Chepkut, however, said he fully supports the lifestyle audit on all public servants ordered by President Kenyatta since it will help in the fight against corruption which has been the order of the day in the country.
The Jubilee allied MP further urged the president to continue with the fight against corruption without favoring anyone irrespective of their political affiliations.
