The Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary-general Francis Atwoli on Sunday left believers in stitches when he took up in prayers asking for God's intervention to eliminate a myriad of corruption incidences that have marred the country.
For the first time, Atwoli made a public prayer while in a funds drive in Uasin Gishu and asked God the reason as to why he gave Kenyans corrupt leaders that have swindled public funds and derailed National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) to torment farmers and sugarcane growers.
“Kwa nini Mungu unatupatia punishment ya kutupatia viongozi wale wanakuja kutuibia, sisi hatuna nguvu yoyote, watu wa Kakamega, watu wa Trans Nzoia, watu wa Uasin Gishu, ambao hawana ajira yoyote, wanatarajia kupanda maindi ili wapeleke watoto wao shuleni. Mungu sina nguvu mimi (why God do you give us punishment by giving us corrupt leaders? They came to sleeve us, it's beyond my strength God, people of Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu rely on maize to educate their children),” Atwoli says in prayer.
He urged God to intervene through President Uhuru Kenyatta with the assistance of biblical angle Gabriel to secure the nation from deadly hyenas that have consumed public funds and changed the country.
Atwoli has been fiercely criticizing corruption in Jubilee government and is currently spearheading for a referendum meant to bring adjustment of the executive by introducing a Prime Minister post.
