When renowned Jamaican dancehall artist of international renown Demarco turned up for an interview with the 'Trend's' Amina Mohamed, Marijuana was bound to be a subject of discussion.
The multi-talented crooner threw his weight behind the legalisation of the drug, a subject that has stirred controversy, vaulting it to the national debate.
He said that it does not kill as he hailed its medicinal uses.
"It is just a plant. You have never seen ganja it kill anybody. You have never seen anybody overdose because it is a natural thing. Some people use it for medicinal uses," Demarco
Demarco's remarks came amid a spirited national debate on the legalisation of marijuana.
Kibra Member of Parliament Kenneth Okoth has called for the legalisation of the drug.
The debate has divided national opinion.
