Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga on Saturday joined Kenyans to mourn the passing on of long-serving former President Daniel Moi's eldest son.
In a post on his official Facebook page, DP Ruto described Jonathan Moi as a man who treasured family and friendship.
"Saddened by the passing on of Jonathan Toroitich, son of former President Moi. Jonathan made his name as an enthusiastic, competitive and masterful rally driver. He was sociable, affable and loved a good laugh. Jonathan treasured family, friendships and committed himself to better the lives of others. Rest In Peace," said the DP in the post.
Odinga also sent a message of condolence through a Facebook post saying; "My family and that of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga send deeply felt condolences to President Daniel arap Moi following the death of Jonathan Moi earlier today. We wish strength to the former President and his family to bear the loss. May God grant peace to the family at this sad moment.
Baringo senator Gideon Moi confirmed the death of his brother noting he was an amiable, social and down-to-earth and industrious human being.
