The Council of Governors chairman Josephat Nanok has rebuked Nairobi governor Mike Sonko over the leaked phone conversation with his Kiambu counterpart Ferdinand Waititu.
While speaking to journalists on Friday in Nairobi, the CoG chairman noted that the act of recording and leaking private conversations to the public may hinder the unity enjoyed by the county bosses.
Mr Nanok hinted that governors will have to relook at how they relate with each other in the near future so that certain issues do not find their way to the public.
"Issues of ethics between governors' discussions, issues of taping your colleague's discussion, issues of bringing out matters you may be discussing indoors to the public. I think these are issues we should be looking at so that there is respect," said Nanok.
"We will be cautioning ourselves on how we relate with each other so that we don't create conflict within the institution," he added.
In the phone call that went viral on social media, Waititu pleads with Mike Sonko to have his wife released following the arrest over illegal buildings in Nairobi.
