The Building Bridges Task-Force committee that came into place after the famous March 9 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga has finalized the first phase of its report.
In the report that it presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta on September 21, the committee co-chaired by Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji and his Busia counterpart Amos Wako proposes joint countrywide unity tours involving Uhuru and Raila’s allies.
The committee has identified 10 regions which it suggests that president Kenyatta and Raila should visit in push to unite the country after the 2017 divisive general election.
The regions identified by the committee include:

2. Nairobi
3. North Rift-(Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Turkna, Nandi, Baringo and West Pokot counties)

The committee plans to start the countrywide tours on October 23.
Last week, Senator Haji said that the committee will also seek Kenyans views on the best governance structure for the country.
Haji also hinted that referendum is part of the 9 point agenda the committee is discussing.
Other issues the committee is said to be discussing are inclusivity and electoral reforms.
