Former Subukia Member of Parliament Koigi Wa Wamwere has been the latest leader to fire shots at Chief Justice David Maraga over his recent controversial action.
Maraga has been at the centre of the storm from politicians since his appearance at President Uhuru Kenyatta's rallies in Kisii earlier in the week.
The CJ was among national figures who accompanied Uhuru for the Wednesday tour that saw him launch several health initiatives in the county, before appearing at political rallies that followed.
Speaking on Saturday, the former Assistant Cabinet Minister said that the appearance puts in question the stability of the CJ and the judiciary as far as justice and neutrality are concerned.
"It's very wrong for a Judiciary head to be seen at such functions. It shows that he is very likely to be compromised and compromises his oath to remain independent," he said.
Wamwere was speaking on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche Show Saturday evening.
He termed it a worrying trend that might see Kenyans and especially politicians lose confidence in the court.
"This is demoralizing for people with cases against the state and state officials. What do you expect when you see the person supposed to decide over your case with your opponent," he posed.
Others leaders who have bashed Maraga include Siaya Senator James Orengo and his Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
