He is the Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori.

Before 2013, Dori was a 'nobody' in Coast politics. But five years later, he is wielding too much political influence to an extent of setting in motion a rebellion against his sponsor party-ODM.

Riding on his position as the Coast Parliamentary Group chairman, Dori who is in his second term as MP is slowly swinging the region into the DP Ruto axis. He will be Ruto's point man in the region that has been more receptive to the Orange party.

In his own Kwale County, Dori has successfully managed to pluck all elected MPs and Senator to the DP's camp with only Women Representative Zuleikha Hassan remaining loyal to ODM.

Having already resigned as ODM National Organizing Secretary, Dori is technically out of the Raila Odinga-led party that may find it hard to continue to stamp its authority on the region's politics.
