West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi said Ruto should not take Matiang'i's elevation lightly.

He said Mr Matiang'i's promotion may end up jeopardizing DP Ruto's presidential plan in 2022.

"I wish to advise DP Ruto to take Matiang'i's promotion with seriousness since President Uhuru Kenyatta may make a u-turn and endorse Matiang'i for Presidency come 2022," said the opposition allied MP.

The vocal legislator argued that Matiang'i's promotion is a major blow to DP Ruto since he will not be traversing the country to launch unnecessary projects.

"Ruto won't be going round the country claiming to be launching projects since Matiang'i will be the overall supervisor of all national government projects. This means Mr Ruto will get back to the drawing board to reorganize his strategic plan ahead of the 2022 general election," he added.

He challenged elected Gusii leaders to back Matiang'i's promotion and take advantage to bring development in their respective places of administration.
