A 10-year-old boy is nursing injuries at the Nyeri County Referral Hospital after hi stepfather 'castrated' him after allegedly stealing Sh50.
The incidence took place at Gakanga endarasha in Kieni constituency on Thursday.
According to the boy's mother, who spoke to the press at the hospital, the boy had been called by his father for grilling before the incident transpired.
Upon denying, he was dragged into the house by the father and was beaten mercilessly.
"He dragged him to the house, best him and tied his private parts before injuring them with a knife," the mother said.
The boy was then punished by the father after being told to graze cows that very day. The incident was revealed by the sister.
"He told me that the father had threatened him and that's why he made it a secret," she said.
She confirmed that the incident has been reported and the suspect has since been arrested and handed over to the police by residents.
Eric Mubeya, a doctor at the hospital, has confirmed that a surgery will be conducted on the boy to save his manhood.
