Despite pressure from critics within Jubilee Party, Deputy President William Ruto insists that he has no plans to quit contrary to expectations of many Kenyans.

Instead, he says, he will support whoever candidate who may edge him out in Jubilee Party nominations ahead of 2022 elections.

"We will all compete for different positions in the nominations. Those of us who will be defeated should concede and support the winners,” he said.

He added: " Nobody is waiting for direct tickets. We shall have serious nominations. I will concede should I lose. Jubilee was founded on strong democratic principles."

A couple of weeks ago, party Vice Chair David Murathe dismissed Ruto's chances insisting that he's unfit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

But at Sugoi on Wednesday, Ruto also insisted that he's not interested with endorsements, adding that he's ready to battle out with his competitors.

"You fight for this seat. You don't wait to be endorsed like some other people. That is the spirit. I'll go to people and they will made the final decision."
