The Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala's written play on talent based education performed by Kakamega High School on Saturday moved the audience at the ongoing Kenya National Drama and Film Festival staged at Kibabii University.
The play took issue with the stereotype that it is only an academic qualification can guarantee a good future.
The play, written and directed by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, also honoured the former School principal of the school Oliver Minishi with the final conclusion of the play where they said, "The former principal is a classic example of how one can strike a balance between academic and theatre."
The play named Oliver Minishi as a theatre guru and one of the father's of this festival, drama fete and still remains a celebrated Chemistry and mathematics teacher who has authored books on the said subjects with exemplary skills.
The performance celebrated Oscar Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, Papa Shirandula, and Ndambuki Churchill as perfect examples of how performing art can transform the society.
The play revolved around a boy who was tone between his father's preference that he concentrates in academics and his love for drama and theatre.
