Gusii leaders clinging behind Deputy President William Ruto have been accused of misleading the community besides disrespecting their colleagues.
At Tindereti Primary on Monday, Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri accused the leaders of engaging in early campaigns, adding that they should have not settled so first to back DP William Ruto.
The seasoned politician urged the MPs to 'relax' adding that elders will give them a direction when the right time comes in future.
"Why are you in a hurry? Why are you telling that he (Ruto) must be president? It's pointless to hurry. I am an elder and I have my colleagues who can give the community a direction. You can't promise everyone who comes here," said Ongeri.
"You cannot move around the country abusing others. You must respect us. Even Matiang'i and myself can be presidents. For now let's stop campaigning and support development. Stop causing confusions around," he said.
Last week, DP William Ruto visited Nyamira County where he was received by MPs Joash Nyamoko, Ben Momanyi, Vincent Kemosi, Jerusha Momanyi and Shadrack Mose of Kitutu Masaba.
During the trip, the leaders vowed to bank Dr Ruto, arguing that his impeccable do record in the region will not go unrewarded. They accused Dr Fred Matiang'i of using his office to frustrate Ruto.
"Even if you ask administrators to run away, we will not stop supporting DP William Ruto. He delivered for Uhuru and 2022 must be his year," Mose said.
