Sophie Njeri,  the lady who found himself behind bars after taking a bold move to record 5 traffic police officers who were roughing up a woman along Thika superhighway has spoken after being released.

The lady had initially made the public aware of her arrest through a Facebook post causing an uproar on social media with many Kenyans terming it as unlawful. 

They demand her release through #ReleaseNjeri even though this was done on cash bail. 

Sophie,  after being released thanked Kenyans for the support they showed her when she was arrested. 

"Thank you Kenyans for your overwhelmed support. I was released at around 6:30, cash bail of Kshs 10,000. " posted Sophie on Twitter. 

She also informed the public she was accused of obstructing in the execution of duty and is expected to appear in Makadara Court on Friday 8th February 2019.

"Been accused of obstruction in the execution of duty, expected to be in court on 8th Feb 2019 at Makadara court, 8:00 a.m," read her post.

Many Kenyans congratulated her for the bold move she took to expose the unlawful action by the traffic police officer.

However, many why surprised with the Ksh.10,000 cash bail that she was charged coupled with the need for her to appear in court.

Kenyans on twitter believe she did nothing wrong promising to support her in different ways to ensure justice prevails.
