This crucial announcement was made by the Public Works Principal Secretary Paul Maringa during a press briefing. He revealed that these two days will be used to put to test the much-anticipated bus rapid transport (BRT) system.

However, Mr Maringa was quick to note that only individuals on bicycles, police cars and emergency vehicles will access the CBD on these two days.

The parking lots all over the city will be used by hawkers on the two days to sell their items.

The PS directed that matatu operators will drop and pick passengers outside the city at allocated termini. Those with personal cars have been advised to leave their cars home and use public vehicles during the two days.

The BRT system is a move by the government to ease congestion in the city.

During the briefing, he said that the 64-capacity vehicles will take four routes, that is, Harambee Avenue, City Hall Way, Moi Avenue and Agha Khan Walk.

Their parking lots will be at Uhuru Park and Railways during the two set-aside days.
