1. Red meat
Most pregnant women crave for red meat. Red meat is rich in Vitamin B6 which is useful in the formation of red blood cells of the fetus. She will crave for red meat as vitamin B6 in her body is being used at a faster rate than its taken, hence leading to its craving.
2. Dairy
Most pregnant women crave for dairy products. Most of them love ice cream while others love yoghurt. As the fetus grows in their bodies, it uses a lot of their calcium. This makes these women crave for foods rich in calcium, with most of them preferring ice cream over other foods.
3. Soil
You have seen pregnant women eating soil right? Well, this is because the soil is rich in iron minerals. When pregnant, iron levels in the body of women drop leading to a craving for more.
4. Chocolate
Chocolate is rich in B vitamins. Pregnant women crave for chocolate as it contains B vitamins that are essential in controlling their metabolism. Their deficiency makes women crave for them.
5. Broccoli
Pregnant women have a craving for vegetables, especially broccoli because of low folic acid levels in their bodies when pregnant. Without enough folic acid in their body, they risk losing their unborn due to birth defects. Some pregnant women crave for sugary fruits which also adds folic acid in their bodies.
