There was drama in Eldoret on Thursday after a female hawker confronted a county Askari for trying to arrest her and taking her money.
In a video posted by Daily Nation, the woman who roasts maize by the road is seen grabbing the county Askari by his collars and pushing him.
The angry woman is heard screaming at the man claiming he only targeted her and took her money.
“You can’t go with my money. Haendi na pesa yangu, mimi peke yangu,” said the woman.
The confrontation attracted members of the public who tried to intervene and separate the two before the matter could get more physical.
At one point the man tried to fight back but the crowd stopped him shouting you can’t fight a woman during the constant pushing and shoving.
The visibly angry woman later on let the man free and she is seen picking up her jiko that she was using to roast maize.
Members of the public who had sided with the frustrated hawkers are heard saying it was wrong harassing hawkers while a woman in the crowd is heard saying that the county askari usually target the woman.
