There was drama on Sunday at Keroka town in Nyamira County after two female teachers engaged in a fist fight over a man who is a security guard at the rental houses where the two stay.
Witnesses said trouble started when Rhoda Osebe accused her colleague teacher Debra Nyaboke of having an affair with the security guard, Jackson Osore.
"Osore has been dating the two women for over five months without Debra and Osebe knowing Osore was playing them until Osebe arrived from church only to find Debra holding hands with the guard at the gate. She got angered and started quarrelling with Debra prompting the fight," said Boniface Okenye.
Mr Okenye said other tenants intervened and stopped the two from fighting.
The security guard said he didn't know things would backfire.
"I have been dating Osebe and Debra for over five months. I didn't know things would turn against me," he said.
Area Chief Elvis Kangwana condemned the incident saying women should stop fighting for love.
"It is shameful that Osebe and Debra engaged in a fight as members of the public watched. It was a bad example which should not be condoned. Women should learn to respect themselves," he said.
