Kisii County governor James Ongwae has appealed to governors from the counties forming the Lake Region Economic Block to focus on service delivery.
Ongwae while speaking on Wednesday during the closing ceremony of The Lake Region Economic Block Conference 2018 that was hosted in Bomet County said the electorates' lives must improve no matter what.
"We were elected to serve our people and not enriching ourselves. I am, therefore, calling on governors to shun politics and concentrate on work which they were elected to do," he said.
The ODM allied governor argued that party politics should not be a consideration in the Lake Region Economic Block.
"We have come together as governors in the Lake Region Economic Block to ensure our counties are trading. Party politics should not take the center stage since our agenda will be derailed," said Ongwae.
He asked The Lake Region Economic Block Chairperson, Governor Wycliffe Oparanya not to condone those who politicize the agenda of the economic block.
The Kisii County boss reiterated he his administration is investing more in the health sector, education and roads to ease the transportation of people and agricultural products to various markets within the county.
