Maalim will soon grace the TV screen and host a governance show dubbed ‘Speakers Gallery.'

The former National Assembly Deputy Speaker will host the show on Ebru TV channel.

Maalim has already shared a ‘promo’ of the expected show on his twitter handle.

According to political analyst Peter Ngure, Maalim's new TV job could be his gateway back to active politics and political fame.

The analyst argues that the veteran politician’s popularity is likely to increase once he starts hosting the much-anticipated governance TV show.

“It will be a good platform for him (Maalim) and more so if he has plans for 2022," the analyst noted.

The analyst said that Maalim still has a chance to make it back to active politics.

“He (Maalim) is among experienced politicians who can still make it back to political fame,” he adds.

The former Lagdera MP has been in the political cold since 2013.

He unsuccessfully contested for the Garissa senate seat in 2013 losing it to Yusuf Haji.

In 2017 general election, the Wiper Party Deputy leader unsuccessfully vied for the Garissa Township MP seat and lost to Aden Duale.

There are claims that the former National Assembly deputy speaker could contest for the Garissa governor seat in 2022.

Maalim has however not responded to the claims of contesting for governor seat and has left his supporters guessing on his next political move ahead of 2022.
