The administration block of Lukenya University in Makueni County has been brought down by a mysterious fire.

No one was injured among the 400 students and staff during the Wednesday morning fire.

The administration block which houses the vice chancellor's office and that of his deputy, the finance, and the exams offices was reduced to ashes in the fire that started shortly after 1 am.

Kibwezi Assistant County Commissioner Vitalis Ogur went to the institution and led efforts to contain the fire.

The fire was contained by the university’s community, neighbors, and the county fire brigade but nothing was salvaged.
