The County government is offering training on the use of mJALI (Mobile Jamii Afya Link for Information) health insurance mobile application.

mJALI is a Community-Based Health Management Information System (CBHMIS) innovated with an aim to improve efficiency in the collection, analysis and dissemination of community health data for communities, health service providers and stakeholders in the health sector.

The initiative aims to boost the county health system through effective planning.

According to the Taita Taveta acting Director of Health Services Eunice Masamo, the team will embark on NHIF mass registration across the county after the training.

In the first phase of the training, 210 individuals from the county community health workforce including 179 Community Health Volunteers (CHVs), public health officers and hospital managers drawn from 20 wards will be trained and sensitized on the national insurance cover.

A total of 7,500 financially vulnerable households will at the end of the exercise benefit from a one year NHIF subscription courtesy of the county government.

"Following several public awareness village barazas conducted by the department early last year, the number of registered residents in the county doubled from 4,198 in 2017 to 8,429 last year," she said on Wednesday.
