Kenya African National Union (KANU) party boss Gideon Moi now wants Kenyans to be extra careful while picking their leaders in future polls.

Speaking in Meru county on Sunday, the Baringo Senator advised Kenyans to only go for politicians likely to safeguard their future.

The lawmaker who was speaking in the company of opposition and a section of Jubilee Party lawmakers called for wisdom in the polls, rooting for the election of reliable persons.

“The most important question you should ask yourself before choosing a leader is; can you trust that person with the future of your children?" he said, according to the Standard.

He also advised Kenyans to rally behind President Uhuru Kenyatta's development agenda, terming it a godsend to better the nation, as well drumming up support for Uhuru's 2018 handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

He admitted being a beneficiary of the healthcare wing of Uhuru's Big 4 reelection agenda.

“In fact, each region has a particular item in the Big Four agenda. In Baringo, for instance, our favorite is Universal Healthcare because a lot of our people have been suffering from ill health," he said.

Moi also called upon politicians to shun the 2022 debate, at s time when political temperatures are already on the rise.

He was accompanied by his ally and Tiaty MP William Kamket who urged Kenyans to shun corrupt politicians come 2022.
