Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu accused deputy president William Ruto of dividing residents of Mt Kenya politically.
On his Facebook page, Wambugu claimed the deputy president was working hard to unify his Rift Valley backyard.
He argued that Ruto often encouraged both the losers and winners of elections to work together from his backyard.
He further noted that leaders from Rift Valley allied to the deputy president, were talking to their rebel colleagues from the region to support his (William Ruto's) future ambitions.
"In Rift Valley Ruto wants everyone to work together; losers and winners; for the benefit of the community. His people are even reaching out to the ‘rebels’ opposed to him, to ‘go back home’. He’s essentially doing everything he can to keep RV ‘united’," read part of the post.
He asserted that the deputy president had rented residents, churches and leaders from the region to sing praises to him (William Ruto) and discredit president Uhuru Kenyatta.
"However in Mt Kenya Ruto is using money to split churches, divide leaders (even have some organize how to heckle their colleagues), and undermine Uhuru’s leadership and position as the region’s political leader. He’s essentially doing everything he can to divide us," observed Wambugu.
The ex-ODM politician sent a warning to the deputy president, while opining that his divisive endeavours would proof futile with time.
