Controversial businessman Jimmy Wanjigi was on Friday at the home of Deputy President William Ruto.
Wanjigi was among President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga when they met at the formal residence for ‘lunch’.
Ruto invited his party boss Kenyatta for a meal after they left the requiem mass for the late activist Jane Kiano at Karen.
Sources who were present at the meeting said Uhuru and Ruto enjoyed a moment of about 30 minutes before the President placed a call and invited Raila.
After joining the two, businessman Jimmy Wanjigi was also driven in ‘in one of Raila’s car’.
Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen confirmed that Wanjigi joined the ‘big three’ but did not divulge details of their discussions.
However, according to photos released by the DP’s media team, only Raila, Uhuru, Ruto and Murkomen are featured.
Why was Wanjimi omitted in the photos?“I really don’t want to comment on that,” a source at the DP’s press team said.
This move, as well as why he was invited to the meeting has left political pundits reading too much into the meeting.
Wanjigi is a billionaire businessman and has been mentioned as one of the financiers of NASA in the 2017 presidential race.
He is also said to be among those who formed Jubilee in 2013 before he reportedly fell out with Ruto and Uhuru over state tenders.
