After the controversial passing of the president's proposal on the Financial Bill on Thursday by the National Assembly, Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo has rubbished the vote claiming the Speaker said the opposite of what the MPs wanted.
In his tweet, Omollo condemned the manner in which the Bill passed, saying it is a disgrace to the country.
The ODM legislator stuck to his stance that the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi did the contrary of the resounding 'No' the MPs said towards the Financial Bill, 2018 while in parliament.
"My Conscience is Clear! We said a Resounding No! The Speaker heard a YES! An August House Indeed!... Disgrace!" tweeted the MP.
Earlier on Wednesday, Omollo announced his stand on the 8 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) reduction and said he would vote against the Financial Bill.
He further said that for the MPs to be right, they need to engage on what else that need to go. However, his plans and expectations were frustrated after the bill passed.
Speaking to the Journalists outside parliament buildings, angered MPs led by Dagoretti's Simba Arati said, their next move is to impeach the speaker who has mastered the art of dictatorship while leading the assembly.
