Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday received a rousing welcome in Kiambu County during a development tour.
The DP visited Kabete and Lari constituencies where he launched construction of two major roads and attended a fundraiser.
In Kabete, huge crowds came out to meet Ruto during the launch of Wangige-Nyathuna-Ngecha road.
The DP, who kept off politics, assured residents that Jubilee administration under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta would deliver on all the promises made ahead of last year polls.
"Hii kazi yote mnaona ni kazi ya Mkutufu Rais, kama mnavyojua mimi ni mtu tu wake wa mkono (All these development projects you have seen is the initiative of the President, as you all know my job is only to assist him)" he said amid cheers from the crowds.
At Kagwe the situation was the same as hundreds of supporters gathered to welcome Ruto who was visiting Lari for the second time since Jubilee was reelected.
He said the government was united and urged residents to ignore those hellbent to cause divisions in the ruling party.
"We have no time for politicking and propaganda. Our focus is to deliver on our manifesto and promises," he stated in reference to reports he has fallen out with Uhuru over the March 9 handshake.
The Jubilee Deputy party leader, accompanied by a group of Kiambu leaders, later in the evening visited Kirenga Girls High School in Kimende for a fund drive.
Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Senator Kimani Wamatangi, Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba, MPs Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu), Jonah Mburu (Lari) and Kabete's Githua wa Macukuru all attended the function.
