Police and residents in Malindi, Kilifi county on Monday woke up with the shocking death reports of the seating Malindi sub-county police commander Matawa Muchangi.
Reports by the department of police in Malindi revealed that Muchangi died on Sunday night while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Mombasa.
It is reported that the Malindi police boss was on Sunday rushed to the hospital after his health condition worsened before meeting his death.
Speaking over the phone, Malindi Director of Criminal Investigation Anthony Sunguti said, “the body is set for postmortem. Once reports from the hospital and the Malindi security committee are out, we will give a complete statement on the sudden death of Mr. Muchangi.”
According to reports from police in Malindi, before meeting his death, Muchangi was set to retire later this year.
