The second Nakuru County Integrated Development Plan CIDP (2018-2022) has been launched.
The CIDP is an important document that keeps the county focused on the issues identified as key to the citizens.
The document that was launched on Wednesday by Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui will be used by the county government, development partners and all stakeholders to implement various projects.
The document was guided by the Vision 2030, the Big Four agenda as well as the county's manifesto. Speaking during the launch, Governor Kinyanjui commended the contribution of the private sector and their role in the implementation of the CIDP.
“We take full cognizance of the private sector and their role in the successful implementation of the CIDP,” said Kinyanjui.
He added that his administration will continue to engage with development partners through the resource mobilization department that will soon be set up.
Kinyanjui revealed that the county has secured Sh1.1 billion from World Bank on urban development.
He also called on the County Assembly’s input towards the implementation of the CIDP and urged it to initiate projects that are in line with the plan.
“Additionally, we will make a deliberate effort to engage with the National Government in seeking resources to fund these projects,” said Kinyanjui.
Meanwhile, Kinyanjui has urged all county officials to be keen when compiling reports indicating the use of resources used per department to ensure there are no audit queries that will reduce the allocation to the county.
“As we work on these projects we must remember to do it in view of the people who gave us the mandate to be here,” he urged.
