Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko is in trouble over his Madaraka Day remarks against Nairobi County Women Rep Esther Passaris.
On Sunday, the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) through their Executive Director, Ms Teresa Omondi came out demanding that the flamboyant city boss be arrested.
FIDA started that Sonko broke Chapter Six of the Constitution and engaged in hate speech.
Ms. Teresa Omondi called on the Inspector General of Police (IG) Hillary Mutyambai, DPP Noordin Haji and the Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti to take stern actions against Mike Sonko who displayed a shameful and disrespectful act against women.
Sonko was addressing Nairobians during the Madaraka Day celebrations at Pumwani Grounds when he bashed on the County Women Rep who had claimed that he (Sonko) doesn't pick her calls and also he is sluggish in approving projects aimed at helping people who voted them in.
Sonko in return told her off claiming that he will pick her calls when he is free.
“I will pick your calls when I am free. I am not your husband that I should be picking your calls the time you want,” said Sonko.
This action angered Esther Passaris who walked out of the celebrations with jeers from the crowd. Sonko further bashed her with a fake goodbye.
