Among other leaders who were present on that particular campaign trail and were not spared by the man's wrath was Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya.

The event which had been organised by Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) in 2014, was pushing for a referendum through the famous "Okoa Kenya" slogan.

The leaders, who received a stroke each on their backs, were busy enjoying the coastal "Sungenya" dance with traditional dancers when a man-Lengo Karisa, dressed in grey shorts, a white t-shirt, and slippers appeared and launched his offensive against the leaders.

His onslaught against Raila did not last for long as he was whisked by private security personnel who handed him over to the police.

The man was later released after it was established he was mentally disturbed, something that was confirmed by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

"We have released the man because we have established that he is insane," said Musyoka.

However, the late Kwale Senator Juma Boy Juma downplayed the incident saying Karisa was dancing when he lost control and fell down.

However,  eyewitnesses at the event said the man was unhappy when he saw his wife dancing 'suggestively' with the politicians.

It took the intervention of Mvurya to calm the angry crowd which threatened to teach the man a lesson.
