Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has laughed off claims of a growing rift within the ruling Jubilee Party.
This comes amid apparent demonstrations of weakening links between President Uhuru Kenyatta, and his deputy William Ruto, who have been openly growing distant lately.
However, Senator Omanga who is in office on the ruling party's ticket, has insisted that the two remain united as has been the case since they first came together in 2002.
Speaking on Wednesday, the lawmaker said that the two leaders share a brotherly cooperation, and rubbished claims that the love initially seen between them is fading off.
She hinted that Uhuru will keep his 2013 promise to back Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions, dismissing those anticipating their breakup as 'wishful thinkers'.
"Uhuru and Ruto are close friends and have been together since 2002. People saying that Uhuru will abandon Ruto is wishful thinking. (Uhuru na Ruto ni marafiki wa toka nitoke. Wamekuwa pamoja kutoka 2002. Mtu kusema eti Uhuru atmwacha Ruto hiyo ni wishful thinking)," she said during an interview on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Wednesday.
The Senator noted that contrary to what is being said, Uhuru has at no point been unhappy with his deputy over his many cross country functions.
She insisted that the DP enjoys Uhuru's blessings in his trips across the country, and is the representative of the Head of State on the ground.
"He is Uhuru's eyes in his grassroots tours. Its actually Uhuru who gave him the Tangatanga nickname. (Anapotembea mashinani yeye ni macho ya Uhuru. Hata ni Uhuru alimpea hiyo jina ya kutangatanga)," she added.
