President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed claims that he's a beneficiary of corruption, insisting that those with any vital information about him should report the matter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Speaking in Kirinyaga on Tuesday, Uhuru said no amount of intimidation will sabotage his determination in the ongoing fight against corruption, adding that his administration will crack the whip.
"When you take the podium at a funeral and make false pronouncements like those made against me recently, how does it help you? I wonder if the dead person will rise up and help you," said Uhuru.
"I want to say here, I have never stolen. But if you have evidence against me, walk to Karura Forest, the offices of those tasked to investigate crime, including corruption, are there. Go there and make an official report," he said in reference to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, which is headquartered on Kiambu Road.
Over the weekend, a section of MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto accused Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga of allegedly using the fight against corruption to intimidate the DP.
Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi alleged Uhuru was linked to the proposed merger of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and national carrier Kenya Airways, claiming that the president and his family are beneficiaries of corruption-related cases in the country.
The second term legilator also blamed Uhuru for the current tribulations facing DP Ruto, who has often been linked to several graft related cases in the country.
