Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua went into historical books as the first Kenyan journalist to interview President Joseph Kabila of Zaire/Congo in the 90's, records a local daily.

Mutua interviewed the President after he took over leadership from his father who had been assassinated.

During that time, the now Machakos governor who was working for SBS Television based in Australia before was honored with an opportunity many die dreaming about in life. 

Mutua has risen to become one of the most powerful leaders in this country.
