Munyaka, who is serving his third term in office is currently not seeing eye to eye with Kalonzo.

The MP has several times criticized the former Vice President claiming that he failed to champion for the Ukambani region's development when he served in government.

Munyaka has also been hitting out at Kalonzo accusing  him of discrimination and favorism when it comes to Ukambani politics.

The Machakos Town MP fell-out with Kalonzo in 2013 after he allegedly refused to issue him direct nomination to contest for the constituency's parliamentary seat.

Munyaka claimed that Kalonzo had agreed to give him a direct ticket but backed down on his promise.

"Kalonzo betrayed me at the last hour in 2013 by declining to honor the promise he had made to me for a direct nomination," Munyaka said.

Munyaka said he was forced to ditch Kalonzo's Wiper party at the last minute.

He joined  Chama Cha Uzalendo Party (CCU) and won his re-election in 2013.

Munyaka had earlier (2007) won the Machakos parliamentary seat on an ODM-Kenya party ticket.

Kalonzo has, however, denied betraying Munyaka.

"In fact, Munyaka is the one who betrayed our friendship and the trust I had in him," Kalonzo said.

Political analysts now argue that Kalonzo has to reach out to his political 'enemies' and reconcile with them if he is to succeed in his 2022 presidential bid.

There has been speculation that Kalonzo plans to iron out his political differences with Munyaka and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.

Both Kalonzo and Mutua have declared their interests in 2022 presidential bids.
